(10/1/08) "I ultimately do believe in a woman's right of choice..."
Former New York City Mayor and presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani is speaking tonight, October 1, 2008 at Sacred Heart University. Giuliani has identified himself as pro-choice, saying in a 2007 Republican debate, “I ultimately do believe in a woman's right of choice, but I think that there are ways in which we can reduce abortions.” Recently, in a response to comments made by Nancy Pelosi, New York Archbishop Edward Cardinal Egan stated: “Anyone who dares to defend that they [children in the womb] may be legitimately killed because another human being ‘chooses’ to do so or for any other equally ridiculous reason should not be providing leadership in a civilized democracy worthy of the name.” The topic of Giuliani’s talk at Sacred Heart is “Leadership in Difficult Times.” Sources: Sacred Heart University and On the Issues
