(10/13/09) Prayed Rosary with African Synod Fathers, as well as Roman and African students
On Saturday, October 10, Pope Benedict XVI prayed the Rosary with university students and delivered an address to them. Participants in the event included Fathers of the current Synod for Africa, Roman university students, and, via satellite, university students from eight African cities. During the address that followed the Rosary, the Holy Father remarked that students must be “passionate seekers of truth” and well as “workers of intellectual charity” in both the Church and society. The Pope said that this is essential “if we are to face up to the great challenges of the present time.” Students must build, the Holy Father continued, “academic communities of the highest intellectual standard, where it is possible to exercise and enjoy that open and all-embracing rationality which paves the way to the meeting with God.” Source: Catholic News Agency
