Thomas Aquinas College New Chapel Cornerstone to Receive Papal Blessing

(8/20/08)  President Dillon: "As a Catholic Institution, we wanted to symbolize our devotion to the church and the teaching of the church."

The 700-pound cornerstone of the Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel will be blessed by Pope Benedict in St. Peter’s Square after his Wednesday audience on September 3, 2008. The chapel, scheduled to be dedicated next March by Cardinal Mahoney, is “meant to be the physical and spiritual center of the campus.” Thomas Aquinas College President Thomas Dillon said, “As a Catholic Institution, we wanted to symbolize our devotion to the church and the teaching of the church … We’re making a statement in stone.” The college was listed as “Joyfully Catholic” in the recent edition of The Newman Guide.
