The University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) will be celebrating its 15th anniversary of serving Catholic schools from July 24 to 27. Graduates and other supporters of ACE will participate in a “jubilee weekend” on the Notre Dame, Indiana campus.
ACE was founded in 1994 by Holy Cross Fathers Timothy R. Scully and Sean D. McGraw. ACE supports many different programs serving Catholic schools in the United States and abroad. According to a press release issued by the University of Notre Dame, “Central to its mission is the preparation of teachers and leaders for service in Catholic schools. While earning a master in education degree, approximately 180 students serve annually in schools in 32 communities. The ACE Leadership Program was established in the summer of 2002 to train qualified and faithful principals for Catholic schools.”
Organizers of the jubilee weekend expect approximately 600 participants, ranging from ACE graduates to Catholic teachers and administrators from around the country. The archbishop of Galveston-Houston, Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, will be the principal celebrant at the July 25 Mass in the Basilica of the Sacraed Heart. During the celebration of the Mass, ACE will commission 180 new teachers for academic service.
