Sudent Political Groups Use Notre Dame Funds to Support Candidates

(9/18/08)  Funds may not be used to contribute directly to candidate's campaigns.

The Student Senate at the University of Notre Dame is now allowing the College Republicans, Democrats and Libertarians to utilize University-allocated funds to distribute promotional materials and post signs for their respective candidates. The funds may not be used to contribute directly to candidates’ campaigns, nor to host speakers on campus which violate pre-existing University speaker policies. The College Republicans, Democrats, and Libertarians are each receiving $2,606.04 from student government. Source: The Observer Online
