Philip Skaggs, an instructor in Humanities, European and East Asian History at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, is the new Democratic Party Chairman for Kent County in Michigan. Before offering support for pro-abortion President-elect Barack Obama during the 2008 campaign, Skaggs supported John Edwards, also pro-abortion, for the Democratic nomination. Skaggs is vocal at the blog “West Michigan Rising” where he orchestrated local support for the Obama campaign. He promoted a September 30, 2008 Obama event at Aquinas College entitled “Rock 4 Barack.” Students were offered musical and comedic entertainment in an effort to register them to vote and teach them “about Obama and the Campaign for Change.” Source: M Live.com and West Michigan Rising
