The Papal Nuncio to the United States of America, Archbishop Pietro Sambi, will concelebrate the opening Mass on September 1 at Benedictine College in Atchinson, Kansas, with Archbishop Joseph Naumann of the Kansas City Archdiocese. Other bishops from Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma have also been invited. Archbishop Sambi, who has served as Nuncio since 2005, will deliver a keynote talk after Mass at the Benedictine convocation entitled, “Celebrating 25 Years of Formal Diplomatic Relations between the United States and the Vatican.” Benedictine is advertising the event as free and open to the public. Benedictine College is featured in The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College (published by The Cardinal Newman Society) for its strong Catholic identity. Now a free online resource, the 2nd edition of The Newman Guide will be published in September 2009. Source: Benedictine College
