Rev. Peter M.J. Stravinskas is the founder and superior of the Priestly Society of the Venerable John Henry Cardinal Newman, a clerical association of the faithful committed to Catholic education, liturgical renewal and the new evangelization. He is also executive director of the Catholic Education Foundation, an organization providing financial assistance to Catholic high school students and a resource for strengthening the Catholic identity of Catholic secondary schools. He founded The Catholic Answer magazine in 1987 and was editor for 17 years, then founded The Catholic Response in 2004. Father Stravinskas is the author of more than 600 articles and 36 books, most recently Be To Me a Father and a Priest (Pine Beach, NJ: Newman House Press, 2009).
Father Stravinskas has served as a professor of education, theology and classical languages at Catholic institutions including Georgian Court University, Gonzaga University, Holy Apostles College and Seminary, Redemptoris Mater Seminary, St. John’s University (New York) and Seton Hall University. He earned his Ph.D. in school administration from Fordham University and a doctorate in sacred theology from the Marian Institute at the University of Dayton and the Marianum in Rome.
