Hiring qualified, mission-centered employees is of utmost importance for Catholic schools and colleges. St. John Paul II stated in Ex corde Ecclesiae, “The identity of a Catholic University is essentially linked to the quality of its teachers and to respect for Catholic doctrine.” Canon Law requires that in Catholic schools, “teachers are to be outstanding in correct doctrine and integrity of life.” Teachers and professors serve as witnesses to the faith, in both word and deed.
