Confronting Legal and Policy Threats
The Cardinal Newman Society continues to lead the charge in defending the religious freedom of Newman Guide institutions. From court briefs and legal strategy to direct conversations with allies in the Education Department, our team is taking bold action. Bob Laird, a West Point veteran and pro-life champion, now spearheads our policy work—backed by your prayers and support.

Led by Bob Laird, Senior Counselor to the President, The Cardinal Newman Society is expanding legal advocacy with top partners in D.C.

Newman Guide Network Formally Launched
The Newman Guide Leaders Network is live and growing fast! With support from generous donors—including a $1 million pledge—we’ve built a private platform for collaboration among Newman Guide leaders. Working groups are already planning for a June conference and 2026 summit, strengthening the mission of Catholic education nationwide.

Kelly Salomon, vice president for Newman Guide Programs, introduced the platform to 17 college leaders in D.C. this January.

Rallying Around Newman Guide Education
At our January 23 leaders meeting, the Newman Guide Network united with powerhouse allies. Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts called this moment critical for Catholic education’s future. Alliance Defending Freedom and the new Catholic Talent Project added momentum with bold strategies to defend religious freedom and build the next generation of faithful educators.
