Dr. R. E. Houser is Professor of Philosophy at the University of St. Thomas (Houston) and its Center for Thomistic Studies. Before coming to the University of St. Thomas in 1987, Dr. Houser taught at Niagara University. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, B.A. Plan II Honors Program. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and his Licentiate in Mediaeval Studies from the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies, Toronto. Recent books include 'The Cardinal Virtues: Aquinas, Albert, Philip the Chancellor' (Toronto: Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies, 2004) and 'Laudemus viros gloriosos: Essays in Honor of Armand Augustine Maurer C.S.B.' (South Bend: University of Notre Dame Press, 2007).
