BACKGROUND

The U.S. Catholic bishops launched the National Eucharistic Revival on the feast of Corpus Christi in 2022. The stated

purpose was to “renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the holy Eucharist.”

This three-year initiative was sparked by national polling indicating a majority of Catholics do not believe in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

A series of diocesan events and a national Eucharistic Pilgrimage led up to the first National Eucharistic Congress in 85 years, held in Indianapolis in July 2024.  Around 60,000 Catholics gathered at the Congress to worship Jesus in the Eucharist. Following the Congress, the pilgrims were sent out from Indianapolis, and the U.S. bishops asked dioceses to continue Eucharistic formation at the diocesan level.

The following survey seeks to understand the impact of the above events on Catholics. The results of this survey will be shared with Catholic leaders across the U.S. Your answers will remain confidential.
